Search Console shows how Google discovers and displays your site. You can get useful direction from four reports without becoming an expert.
The simple monthly review
Performance: compare the last 28 days with the previous period for clicks, impressions, click through rate, and average position.
Queries: find relevant searches with high impressions and low clicks; improve the matching page, not just the title.
Pages: identify important pages losing clicks and check for changed demand, rankings, or page quality.
Indexing: review pages marked not indexed and separate intentional exclusions from real problems.
URL inspection: test a specific important page when you need its current index status.
Core Web Vitals: look for groups of poor URLs and confirm problems with PageSpeed Insights.
Links: review internal link patterns and unexpected external links, but avoid obsessing over counts.
Exports: save a monthly snapshot and write down the three actions you chose.

Put it to work
Search Console is directional, not perfect. Look for meaningful patterns over time and connect them to real inquiries, sales, and site changes.
